Elia Viviani é riuscito oggi nella 4a tappa a centrare la sua prima vittoria al Tour de France dopo la conquista della maglia gialla ieri per il compagno di squadra della Deceuninck-Quick Step, Julian Alaphilippe.

Con la vittoria odierna il velocista veronese ha chiuso il cerchio che lo ha visto ottenere almeno una vittoria di tappa in tutte e tre le grandi corse a tappe, Giro d’Italia, Tour de France e Vuelta di Spagna.

Viviani conquista la prima vittoria al Tour de France

Il velocista della Deceuninck Quick-Step ha capitalizzato l'impeccabile lavoro dei suoi compagni di squadra, mentre Julian Alaphilippe ha mantenuto la maglia gialla.


 

Martedì 09 luglio 2019 - Cinque anni dopo una memorabile vittoria di tappa a Nancy per la Deceuninck Quick-Step, un altro suo corridore ha vinto nella ex capitale della Lorena.
Grazie ad Elia Viviani la squadra belga ha ottenuto due vittorie di seguito al 106 ° Tour de France, risultando  il più veloce in uno sprint avvincente alla fine della 4a tappa di 213,5 km.

"Questa vittoria significa molto per me. In realtà, non posso credere di aver vinto oggi, è pazzesco. Centrare un obiettivo qui al Tour de France è stato uno dei più grandi successi della mia stagione e, grazie al lavoro eccezionale del team, questo mi rende molto, molto felice ", ha detto Elia dopo il suo meritato successo, che lo ha aiutato a diventare il 18 ° corridore della storia a vantare vittorie di tappa in tutti i Grand Tour.

Il campione danese Michael Mørkøv si è contraddistinto nel condurre il treno Deceuninck - Quick-Step, staccandosi a soli 500 metri dall'arrivo, quando il campione argentino Max Richeze è intervenuto e ha consegnato con maestria un altro lancio impeccabile allo sprint vincente di Elia Viviani, che è riuiscito a permettersi di attendere al coperto fino agli ultimi 200 metri prima di affondare con la sua azione oltre tutti i rivali prima di celebrare una delle più belle vittorie della sua carriera.

La vittoria di Viviani è stata la 90a per la Deceuninck - Quick-Step in una tappa di un Grande Giro ed ha aiutato il trentenne italiano a salire al secondo posto nella classifica della maglia verde: "La maglia verde non è il mio obiettivo, ma cercherò di essere nel mix di volarte come gli sprint intermedi per acquisire dei punti, quando i percorsi saranno a me favorevoli, proprio come ho fatto oggi, e vedremo cosa succederà. Una cosa è certa: se tutte le tappe saranno come quelle di oggi, allora posso sperare di vincerla ".
 

Julian Alaphilippe ha concluso la tappa tranquillamente all'interno del gruppo e nella tappa di domani sui Vosgi, il francese sfoggerà l'esclusiva maglia gialla personalizzata con l'effige di Jacques Anquetil, il primo cinque volte vincitore del Tour de France.  
 

Viviani clocks up maiden Tour de France win The Italian capitalised on his teammates’ impeccable teamwork, as Julian Alaphilippe retained the yellow jersey   09-Jul-2019: Five years after a memorable Deceuninck – Quick-Step stage win in Nancy, another member of the Wolfpack roared over the line victorious in the former capital of Lorraine. Elia Viviani was the one to make it two in a row at the 106th Tour de France for our team, emerging as the fastest in an enthralling sprint at the end of the long 213.5km stage 4. “This victory means a lot to me. Actually, I can’t believe that I won today, it’s crazy. Notching up a stage here at the Tour de France was one of my season’s biggest goal, and having achieved it thanks to the team’s outstanding work makes me very, very happy”, Elia said after his massively deserved success, which helped him become the 18th active rider boasting stage wins in all Grand Tours. With Kasper Asgreen still on the mend following his crash on Monday, Yves Lampaert assumed pace-setting duties, as soon as the field left behind Reims and its stunning Gothic cathedral and three men slipped clear. The former Belgian Champion threw in a colossal effort and made sure the gap would hover around the three-minute mark. With the help of other teams, they clawed back the escapees on the last climb of the day, Côte de Maron.   The peloton remained together over the top of the hill, despite a strong tempo of some teams who tried to put the sprinters in the red, and later pegged back a solo attacker, before making way for the lead-out trains. Nancy, which made its Tour de France debut in 1905, witnessed how none other than yellow jersey Julian Alaphilippe took over the reins, furiously stretching out the bunch and bringing his teammates in position under the flamme rouge. Danish Champion Michael Mørkøv then piloted the Deceuninck – Quick-Step train, peeling off with only 500 meters to go, when Argentinean Champion Max Richeze stepped in and expertly delivered another flawless lead-out to Elia Viviani, who could afford to wait until inside the final 200 meters before hitting out and powering like a locomotive past all his rivals en route to celebrating one of the most beautiful victories of his career. “With one kilometer to go I felt that everything was going perfect and was really confident. Then, when Kristoff anticipated the sprint, I was ready to go, but Max’s experienced played again a huge role and so I waited a bit before opening my sprint close to the barriers. Julian’s win in Épernay motivated us and I’m glad I could keep the team’s streak going. I don’t have enough words to tell you how proud I am to have this incredible squad around me: Yves and Dries worked hard, Michael and Max provided a perfect lead and having yellow jersey Julian pulling for me in the final was truly special.” Viviani’s victory was Deceuninck – Quick-Step’s 90th in a Grand Tour stage and helped the 30-year-old Italian jump up to second in the green jersey classification: “It’s not my goal, but I’ll try to be in the mix at the intermediate sprints when the parcours favours me, just like I did today, and we’ll see what happens. L’UAE Team Emirates coglie il 2° posto al Tour con Kristoff Il norvegese battuto di poco da Viviani nella 4^tappa  Tour de France - Tuesday 9 July, 2019         Alexander Kristoff ha mostrato al pubblico della Grande Boucle la sua buona condizione cogliendo la piazza d’onore nella 4^ tappa della corsa francese. Il norvegese dell’UAE Team Emirates ha iniziato la sua volata ai -200 metri, dopo essere stato perfettamente lanciato da Jasper Philipsen: sembrava che Kristoff potesse cogliere il successo, ma Elia Viviani (Deceuninck Quick Step) lo ha preceduto per poco (foto Bettini).   La 4^ tappa, Reims-Nancy, ha proposto solo due semplici e brevi strappi lungo i 213.5km del percorso, risultando così una giornata propizia per i velocisti, i quali si sono infatti presentati agguerriti con i rispettivi treni nel finale di corsa. Ai – 3km, Kristoff è risalito verso la testa del gruppo grazie alla guida dei propri compagni, per poi esplodere la sua velocità nei 200 metri finali: la sua volata si è conclusa con il 2° posto, davanti a Caleb Ewan (Lotto Soudal) e Peter Sagan (Bora Hansgrohe).   Dopo il traguardo, Kristoff ha così commentato: “La squadra ha fatto un super lavoro per me e mi ha portato in una posizione perfetta. Non ho dovuto sprecare energie durante la tappa, condizione perfetta per provare a cogliere il successo, ma Viviani si è dimostrato essere un poco più veloce di me: abbiamo lottato spalla a spalla, ma Elia ha avuto uno spunto migliore. Mi spiace non aver vinto, ma sono comunque orgoglioso per il secondo posto e continuerò a lavorare per cercare di cogliere un successo” Parlando dei compagni, Kristoff si è così espresso “Jasper è stato perfetto nel lanciarmi. Oggi ha dimostrato quanto talento possieda, pur essendo un corridore molto giovane. Corre con passione e ha dato prova di essere piùà che all’altezza di correre il Tour de France. Tutto ciò mi dà ancora più fiducia per il resto della corsa”   Philipsen: “Abbiamo concretizzato ciò che avevamo programmato di fare per il finale. Non è stato facile essere nelle posizioni di testa, ma Bystrøm è esperto nel gestire queste situazioni e così mi è bastato seguire la sua ruota.  Ho dato il massimo negli ultimi 500 metri, fino a quando Alexander mi ha superato, mancando poi la vittoria per poco. Tour de France #4: Giacomo Nizzolo nabs top 10 result Elia Viviani (Deceuninck-Quickstep) sprinted to the victory on stage 4 of the Tour de France. Alexander Kristoff (UAE-Emirates) came home 2nd and Caleb Ewan (Lotto-Soudal) took 3rd place. Stage 4 of the Tour de France was raced over 213km, from Reimesto Nancy. While it was by no means a pan flat stage, it was certainly a clear opportunity for the sprinters today. Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka were once again going all in for our Italian, Giacomo Nizzolo. With big open roads in the final, a strong leadout was important to keep your sprinter in a good position. We had Lars Bak, Reinardt Janse Van Rensburg, Ben King and Edvald Boasson Hagen all on-hand to deliver Nizzolo to the line. Our train was looking good leading into the final kilometer, before slightly losing each other thereafter. This saw Nizzolo slip down a few spots and he had to start his sprint from around 10th wheel. With bodies in front him, it was difficult for Nizzolo to carve out a gap and so would end the stage in 7th place. "The team did an amazing job today, unfortunately I lost some position in the hectic final, so plans had to change because I was stuck behind some guys at 450m to go. I still had good legs, so I sprinted from behind, eventually finishing 7th. Okay, it's not the result I was hoping for, but the team did an amazing job and we were right there. So we look forward to the next stages and we will try again." - Giacomo Nizzolo
