Ancora podio per Marko Kump nel Tour of Qinghai Lake.
Il velocista sloveno ha colto il 3° posto nella volata che ha chiuso l'11^tappa della corsa cinese, disputata a Yinchuan sulla distanza di 123,8 km (tratto in linea di 54,4 km e due giri di un circuito di 34,7 km).
Nello sprint Kump, reduce da due successi consecutivi, è stato preceduto dal vincitore Mareczko e da Teshome.
Il gruppo ha percorso ad alta velocità i primi chilometri, prima della nascita al 75° km della fuga di giornata comprendente tre atleti (Christie, Taylor e Zhang Jinde), arrivata a toccare un vantaggio massimo di 3'05".
L'inseguimento è stato condotto dalla Nippo-Fantini e dalla LAMPRE-MERIDA e si è concluso a 10 km dal traguardo, prima della volata di gruppo nella quale Mareczko ha lanciato uno sprint molto lungo, che ha visto Kump cercare una rimonta che lo ha portato sul podio alla 3^posizione.
"Ringrazio la squadra per aver lavorato in testa al gruppo per ricucire il divario dalla fuga, speravo di ripagare gli sforzi dei compagni con un'altra volata vincente: non ho trovato il guizzo giusto, ma anche il podio è un buon risultato - ha commentato Kump (foto Haoyang) - Ho iniziato la volata in una buona posizione, Mareczko ha anticipato molto la volata e un attimo di ritardo non mi ha consentito di andare vicino alla tripletta.
Domani la crono potrà aiutarmi a recuperare le energie per cercare di dare il massimo anche nell'ultima tappa".

Marko Kump once again on the podium of the Tour of Qinghai Lake.
The Slovenian rider was 3rd in the final sprint of the 11th stage of the Chinese race, which took place in Yinchuan on the distance of 123,8 km (first part of the course of 54,4 km and a second part on a circuito of 34,7 km to be covered twice).
In the massive sprint Kump, who had obtained two victories in a row, was preceded by the winner Mareczko and by Teshome.
The peloton covered at a very high speed the first part of the course, until at 75 km in the race three riders (Christie, Taylor and Zhang Jinde) went clear and had a maximum advantage of 3'05".
The chase was led by Nippo-Fantini and LAMPRE-MERIDA and it was completed at 10 km to the arrival, before the massive sprint in which Mareczko started at 500 meters to the arrival, followed by Teshome and Kump. The recovery of the Slovenian rider gave him the 3rd place.
"I thank my team mates for the support they gave in chasing the breakaway - Kump (photo Haoyang) commented - I would have really liked to thank them with the third victory, however I feel that the third place is a fair good result.
I began the sprint in a good position, Mareczko anticipated a lot his move and I hesitate for one second and I could not bridge the gap anymore.
I'll try to recover in the time trial the necessary energies in view of the sprint of the final stage".
