World number one ranked rider Lorena Wiebes joins Team Sunweb
Sprint sensation, world number one ranked rider and Dutch champion Lorena Wiebes joins Team Sunweb’s Women’s program from the 1st of June, signing a four-year contract with the team until the end of 2024.

Wiebes burst onto the scene in her opening year as a professional in 2018, impressing many on her way to four UCI level wins. 2019 saw Wiebes continue her meteoric rise as one of the best sprinters in the women’s peloton, taking a phenomenal 15 wins throughout the season; accumulating an already blossoming palmarès. Those remarkable performances catapulted the Dutch road race champion to the top of the UCI world ranking at the end of the year, an incredible achievement for a rider that had just entered their twenties. With age still very much on her side, Wiebes wants to continue her development as a top-level rider with Team Sunweb over the coming years.
