Hosking sprints to gold in Australia

Rally Cycling's Chloe Hosking earned the first elite title of her career on Friday, winning the Australian criterium crown in a nail-biting sprint finish in Ballarat, Victoria. The victory was Hosking's fourth of the 2020 season.

"This is my first elite national jersey despite being around forever so it’s nice," said Hosking. “It was tight but a win is a win. I’m a national champion!

Criteriums are part of the North American racing culture and feature in many of the premier stage races that Hosking will take part in.

“I think it’s probably one of the best countries to do it in because they have such great crowds and a really great, strong criterium scene, something that is sort of lacking in Europe,” said Hosking. “So, why not?”

Hosking will be joined by teammates Krista Doebel-HickokHeidi FranzLeigh Ann Ganzar, and Sara Poidevin for the upcoming Santos Women’s Tour Down Under from January 16-19.
