Kasia Pawlowska renews contract with Boels-Dolmans Cycling Team

“I want to put all my effort to keeping the team in a winning rhythm and rising to the standards my teammates set”  Kasia Pawlowska

Sittard, The Netherlands – Boels-Dolmans Cycling is proud to announce Kasia Pawlowska as the eighth returning rider for the 2017 season. The 2016 points race world champion has committed to another two years on the road with the Dutch-registered squad.

This is my third season with the team, and I like pretty much everything about it,” said Pawlowska. “I like my teammates, the staff, the equipment – what more could I want? We all know that we are fighting for one goal, and all the wins we had this year has kept good energy flowing and given everyone more motivation.”

While Pawlowska has had the opportunity to chase personal results on the track, she most often slots into a super domestique role on the road. The 27-year-old played an integral role in team victories at Ladies Tour of Qatar, Trofeo Alfredo Binda, Philadelphia International Cycling Classic and Thüringen Rundfahrt. She was part of the team time trial victory in Vårgårda, Sweden in August and picked up two stage wins in France earlier this month whilst riding Tour de l’Ardèche with the Polish National Team.

“The team time trial in Sweden is one of my happiest moments from the season,” said Pawlowska. “It was such a special feeling to put all of our effort into one very specific thing. It was even better to stand on the podium with all my teammates.”

At home in the hills, Pawlowska shines in stage races. She can hold her own in select spring classics. She’s tactically astute, and she relishes the role of teammate extraordinaire.

“Kasia’s work is often done early or anonymously or behind the scenes,” said team mangaer Danny Stam. “Although her contributions are not always visible, they are very important.”

“When you have such a strong group of girls around you, you want to be stronger and stronger,” said Pawlowska. “In the next two seasons, I want to put all my effort to keeping the team in a winning rhythm and rising to the standards my teammates set.”

With renewed commitment from title sponsors Boels Rental and Dolmans Group through the 2018 season, team manager Danny Stam looked to keep his winning team intact. Pawlowska will return alongside seven current teammates including Chantal Blaak, Nikki Brammeier, Karol-Ann Canuel, Lizzie Deignan, Amalie Dideriksen, Megan Guarnier and Christine Majerus.

“I think it’s really important that we’re keeping the team together,” said Pawlowska. “We know each other so well. We know how we race and how to look at each other and in an instant know exactly what is going on. Sticking together can only make the team effort easier.”
